Spring Break, day 1

(Wowee, I have not posted on this blog for a MONTH!  No apologies, nothing's wrong, just busy and pictures are strewn between two computers and I could not seem to get words and pictures together at the same time.  I have several partial posts lined up - a couple of which went completely out of date without being finished.  I didn't like them that much anyway.)

We break for Spring Break.  We love getting together with friends who are normally in different schools, having fun, maybe even going places.  This year we will be staying at home, and hope to see friends every day.

Today, Earthgirl has 2 friends over.  They have played outside on the Greenway, watched a movie, eaten homemade pizza (I expect that soon they will be asking to make cookies...), chalked up our driveway, ridden bikes, and right now are putting on make-up and doing hair.

Is it Spring Break at your house?

I guess you could say I took a mini-spring break today! I did laundry but not much else, and the sun drew me outside, so I took a book and my binoculars and read and watched birds. When hubby got home from work I was zonked out in a chair with my feet up on the deck rail, and bird poop on my shirt sleeve. I didn't think I slept that long, but I guess I got a decent nap, lol!

We are not officially on spring break, but we are semi-observing it. We spent the day out on the water yesterday fishing enjoying wildlife (pods of dolphins that jumped around our boat, several manatee, puffer fish, crab)and got home late. Today I let us ALL sleep in and we did putz around with some homework that needed doing. The boys still need to work on some writing homework tomorrow and we need to keep up with our history reading and then we will observe spring break on Thursday and Friday. I call it having the best of both worlds!
