Passing on Skills

This Singer sewing machine is a little older than I am. Mama made my baby clothes on it before I was born. Now I'm SLOWLY introducing Earthgirl to it. She is eager to make a bunch of clothes.

This is wonderful! I didn't learn how to sew until my thirties, when I decided to learn so I could make curtains for our current house. What a wonderful hobby to share with a daughter! A great lifeskill for anyone to have.

What a great skill to pass on. One of the best joys of homeschooling is teaching life skills. I just got back from the fabric store where we bought the backing, binding and batting for the quilts the girls are making. Can't wait to post it.
