Ephesians 4: 3-1

Sometimes it can be hard to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

It takes a lot of humility and gentleness.

Just when you want to lash out, you have to show forbearance in love.

But that is what it takes to walk in a manner of the calling with which we have been called.

- slightly paraphrased application of Ephesians 4: 1-3, backwards.

I appreciate all my friends and family who show forbearance to me, who treat me with humility and gentleness.

Earthgirl has a little friend who is struggling with this, as children will. Actually, she is not struggling - she is being humble and gentle; she is showing forbearance in love toward a third friend who is not always sweet to her.  (note: Earthgirl has no trouble with either of these girls)  As adults looking on, we want to say, "Stand up for you!  Write her off!"  But I think she is choosing the better way.  I'm praying for them, that this sweet girl will have a sweet impact on her friend, and on us all.

These are NOT the girls mentioned.

Children can be so cruel, so hurtful, but while it isn't pleasant, I really think it is a part of growing up. Hopefully the little one will be able to let God shape her with a strength of character that will shine despite her childhood challenges.

sometimes people can be the hardest thing about the christian life. i have some friends who are entangled in a situation right now and it is sad to see the division happening. i am praying that it works out well and without more heartache.

how sweet to see your girl doing the right thing!
